Our mission
Our mission is to bring people in our community together to inform, support and empower ourselves and each other, to hold our government accountable to all people, support marginalized and vulnerable people, and protect our rights to healthcare, reproductive freedom, education, housing, personal freedoms and a healthy environment. By working together as a grassroots organization and part of the larger Indivisible community, we work to fight oppression, discrimination, authoritarianism, and help foster a true democracy that benefits and supports all beings and the Earth.
What we do
Bi-Monthly Meetings
We meet twice a month, once on Zoom, once in person (with a Zoom option). Beginning in January, those meetings will take place on the first and third Wednesdays.
Next two meetings: on Zoom, Wednesday February 4, 6pm (link provided to members); in person at the Woodstock Public library, Wednesday February 18, 6pm (link again provided to members who can't attend).
At these meetings, we discuss and move forward the work of our many committees. We currently have committees focusing on the following areas, among others: protests; billboards; local political actions; Democracy Rocks; fund-raising; media; outreach; merchandise - and a brand new one exploring activist art.
During the winter months, there's also a gathering of local Indivisible members on Thursday evening in the weeks when we don't have a meeting scheduled. This takes place at The Pub in Woodstock. Next such gatherings: Thursday January 29 and Thursday February 12, 5-7pm.
Weekly Calls to Representatives
We share weekly scripts to empower members to call their elected officials, from NY State Assembly Members to US Senators.
Meetings with our Reps
We meet with our representatives to voice our questions, concerns, and priorities.
Protests
We organize and participate in protests from Woodstock to NYC and DC.
Trainings
We train our members on topics such as conflict resolution.
